weight/pregnancyFrom: Jody (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 31 Dec 2000 14:47:29 -0600 (CST)
My husband and I will be trying to conceive in 2001 and I have a few Q's. I am a 5'9",full(18-20)-figured 28 year old woman. I also have had back surgery for a ruptured disk 2 years ago and now have two ruptured disks(L4-5, L5-S1). The pain is tolerable compared to before surgery. I am concerned about whether I can give birth naturally or if I should opt for the C-section because of the ruptured disks and the possibility of reinjuring my spine? Also does my weight pose any foreseeable problems to the pregnancy itself? I know I will not be the first plus-sized woman to give birth and am looking for some reassurance. Thanks for your time! :)
