Mandy there are 3 methods of easing circ pain. the first two involve injections of local anesthetic into the penis, called the dorsal nerve block and the ring block. The third involves using a local anesthetic cream called EMLA. It is placed onto the penis about 1 hour before the procedure. In my limited experience, this method is the least effective. Hope this helps.
