There are so many variables that you are correct in assuming that there is no proof here. You'd need many women in the same condition and have some rest and others continue normal activitiy.

Other that placing a cerclage at certain points in the pregnancy, bed rest is the only other option and, as you are aware, is done to reduce pressure on the cervix. Timing of delivery is as variable as the number of patients we treat.
