A wonderful source of information - Hydrocephalus questionsFrom: Heidi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 29 Dec 2000 20:18:30 -0600 (CST)
I would like to take a moment to thank all the women, doctors and nurses that have posted and answered the questions in this forum. This is my 3rd pregnancy, I have two girls ages 15yrs and 3 yrs. I am currently in my 15th week of pregnancy. During my second pregnancy and first ultrasound they found that her ventricles were enlarged, and diagnosed Hydrocephalus. I was then sent to a wonderful group of perinatologists. They confirmed the diagnosis. >From that time I had a series of ultrasounds including transvaginal. Nearing the 32nd week of pregnancy, her ventricles were of normal size, and stayed that way. She did not need to be shunted after birth. My question is - Should I be concerned with Hydrocephalus with this pregnancy. My obstetrician doesn't seem to be too concerned with this, and hasn't scheduled me for an ultrasound. Should I push for an ultrasound now, or should I be brave and wait it out? Thanks in advance Heidi
