Hi, I went in for ultrasound at exactly 6 weeks LMP.(if that indeed was a period and not implantation bleeding) All that was seen was a sac -no fetal pole or heartbeat The doctor estimated pregnancy at 5 1/2 weeks. On an abdominal U/S, when is the earliest any sign of life is seen?

Do you think the doctor should have ordered a transvaginal sound instead this early in the pregnancy?
