a holiday note to Jar, Ari, J.K., Juanita and the rest of the forumFrom: Harvey S. Marchbein, M.D. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 24 Dec 2000 11:07:45 -0600 (CST)
This is a copy of a portion of the Rules of the Forum (available on our web site) "Medical Professionals answer questions of their choice on an "as time allows" basis. We cannot expect medical professionals to answer any, or all personal postings. The professionals are Donating their time and knowledge to us and providing us with a service from the goodness of their hearts. Please do not use the words Help, Worried, Urgent, ect. in Subject Line. Each post is important to each of the senders and those words only encourage EVERY post to begin with Urgent, thus defeating the purpose of trying to get an answer. A far more effective method is to state the clinical nature of your post in the subject heading. This will be more likely to result in answers from specialists in your condition." With this in mind, my comment that "You must be very excited to be on the computer Saturday night. We're here to help. You needn't write Please Help with 3 exclamation points. I can't type any faster. " was meant to acknowledge your emotional involvement with your situation rather than ignore you're emotions which are an important part of obstetrics. You obviously misinterpreted my post because, as I've said before, "I have 3 children over the age of 21 - no one can offend you after that". As to your title, I simply responded that "We're here to help. You needn't write Please Help with 3 exclamation points. I can't type any faster. " This was for you as well as other posters to be made aware of our rules (noted above) and that "We're here to help." All posts are important and exclamatory titles are not helpful to us. Please see the second paragraph above starting with the word "Please". You obviously felt hurt (although none was intended) when you responded with "I am sorry if you've had a long day, but NOBODY needs help from Scrooge. So, thank you, this will be my last post to this board. " Well, I actually had a wonderful day. I'm presuming the Scrooge reference was meant to be hurtful. Please see quote above about my 3 kids. And there's no sense to make this your last post because "We're here to help." I'd like to thank Ari for the comments below "Ari Jari,
>From reading what the doctor wrote, I don't see how you can take it as The comments below were, I'm sure, heartfelt and meant to protect the original poster but was a true flame and unnecessary. "Looks like you need to mind your own business, hon. I read his post and took it as rude, too. It wasn't posted to you, so??? Are you Miss Fix-It? Get your M.D. and come back. " J.K. I'd also like to thank Juanita for her comments below. They were concilliatory and supportive: Juanita: I THINK THE DOC WAS VERY NICE. MAYBE YOUR HORMONES ARE HIGH. WHEN I WAS ON CLOMID I CRYED ONE MINUTE AND LAUGHED THE NEXT. I WILL BE OK! I KNOW WHAT YOUR GOING THREW IVE BEEN TRYING FOR 11 YEARS AND THEN MISCARRIED 2 WEEKS AGO. SO JUST TRY TO TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME. Well, I hope all goes well for our original poster as well as all those on the forum. May the coming year bring you all you desire and may it be a blessing for you and your family.
