I am not a doctor, but I think a follow up ultrasound would put you mind
to ease. See, I don't understand why some doctors do ultrasound so
early. Most of the time they worry the patient to death (figure of
speech). At 5 weeks and 2 days, there is not really much to be seen. If
I were you I would schedule one in about 2 weeks and that one will help
alot. Most of the time the heartbeat can't be seen until 6 weeks or
even more. With this pregnancy, my hcg level was at 23000, and on the
ultrasound that showed a sac and a yolk sac that measured 6 week and 4
days. There wasn't a heartbeat or fetal pole until 10 days later. My
hcg level was 35000 and my baby measured 7 weeks and 4 days with a
heartrate of 157. Right now, The only answer is time will tell. You
are still really early. I know what you are going through. I have had
two miscarriages and 1 life and now 33 weeks pregnant. Please stop
worrying, the measurement can be off, too. And try to have a Merry
Christmas. Always try to think positive until there isn't a postive
side.(if that makes sense) :)
