Can you get too much Prometrium?From: Holly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 22 Dec 2000 10:50:51 -0600 (CST)
I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and have been on Prometrium since about 5 weeks. My progesterone levels were at 7.5 so the doctor put me at 100 mg twice a day. The Prometrium brought my progesterone levels up to 15 within a week. However, I am now experiencing extreme letharthy and sleepiness about an hour after taking the medicine. When I had taken progesterone cream before I had been told that sleepiness was a symptom of overdose. Could I be taking too much now and are there any dangers to my child if my progesterone levels are too high? About how long do you have to stay on progesterone before you can be taken off? Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Holly Garmon
