Very confused abt possible lpd

In a nutshell, here is my dilemna: Trying to conceive for 10 mos (2 previous pregnancies with no difficulty conceiving, one ended in missed misscarriage). Obgyn put me on clomid -even though everything showed ovulation(clear plan monitor and charting), then recommended endroc. reprod. specialist. His office watched me ovulate -on 100mg of Clomid cycle from Obgn, then did endometrial bio 10 days after ultrasound showed a "perfectly ovulated egg". Results came back that lining was 4-5 days lacking. I ovulated on day 20 and got period on day 29. Now fertility dr. wants to put me on Follistim - a very expensive and intense ovulation induction med. with shots. Before I start this, next month, I want to be sure it is the right thing to do. I am completly confused abt. why I am starting an ovul. induction med. when I do ovulate. The way I understand it is that I have progesterone problem after ovulation (blood work at day 21 showed low progestrone level too). I am on no med this cycle and am curious to see what my body does with my period. I would greatly appreciate any advice or help in this matter. I have been told, i cannot have a lpd b/c I ovulate, but isn't something wrong if I get my period so early after ovulation? Also, what are your feelings abt. this medication for my problem?
