Do you have any information on >its use during pregnancy? There is not as much experience with Valtrex as there is with its predecessor Zovirax. There is much experience with zovirax, a lot of it gained in patients that are HIV positive and require supression for that reason. I can't really point you to a specific publication because most of my evidence comes form my colleagues who care primarily for women who are HIV positive and pregnant, particularly Hunter Hamill in Houston, who has been using Zovirax in his patients for several years without a problem. Further, there are several studies in the literature discussing the option of using supression with Zovirax in patients with a history of herpes, from 36 weeks through delivery. All of this data is applicable to Valtrex, basically being the same class of drug... Lynn
