31 weeks and positive fetal fibronectinFrom: Tara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 20 Dec 2000 18:29:12 -0600 (CST)
I was diliated 1 cm and 50% effaced at my 29 week appointment. I had some contractions and was given a fetal fibronectin test that came back positive. I am on complete bed rest with bathroom privelages only and I take brethine 5 mg every 8 hours. My question is what are the rates of going into preterm labor with a positive fetal fibronectin? I mean if it comes back positive is there a given amount of weeks you will deliver by? What is the accuracy rate on these test. I am not due until Feb 18, 2001. So I am now 31 weeks and 3 days. Any information on the test itself would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
