new drug docosanol and valtrexFrom: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 20 Dec 2000 18:28:02 -0600 (CST)
I have posted before about the use of valtrex during my pregnancy. I am now 26 weeks along. A month ago, my doctor prescribed valtrex when I had a large lesion very near my eye. It was a little too late to take the meds at that point, so I did not. She read to me some new research about the use of valtrex in all trimesters not just in the last month as all the previous posts talk about. She tried to assure me of its safety, which is not the message I get on this board. I was wondering where I could read this information myself, as taking the drug would be wonderful, but I am still very leary because of your comments here. Also, the approval of the new Abreva over-the-counter could not be found in my doctors drug manual or research. Do you have any information on its use during pregnancy?
