Stacey The chromosomes are important in determining if there is a cause that could be recurrent. Further, the complete anatomic analysis could add up to a form of syndrome that has a name and also, more importantly, information about the genetics associated-the liklihood of recurrence. I would press your physician about these two things and also ask to speak to a genetic counselor... Lynn
