medications for luteal phase defectFrom: amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 20 Dec 2000 07:12:28 -0600 (CST)
I was identidied with a luteal phase defect after I had an endometrial biopsy. It showed that I was 4-5 days lacking. I was on Clomid 100 mg when this was done, so my fertility dr. suggested we need something more aggressive. He is recommending I start Fellistim next cycle which will be in the form of injections. I was wondering why I am going to start on an ovulation induction medication, when I do already ovulate without anything-my problem is after ovulation. Do you have any opinions on this? Also, I have read that Clomid sometimes causes the body to respond by getting a period early since ovualtion occurs much later. I will be watching this cycle since I am not on anything. Have you ever heard of this side effect of Clomid? I would appreciate any information you can offer. I am supposed to start the medication next month and would like to be sure before I make the decision to start.Thank you
