Found out I'm pregnant today!! Doctor concerned about an ectopic pregnancy. From: Deanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 17 Dec 2000 22:55:24 -0600 (CST)
The doctor confirmed today that I am 4 weeks pregnant, 2 weeks from ovulation. But, I have been having a crampy feeling, sometimes on my left side. It is not a sharp pain but is definitely present off and on. My doctor sent me to the ER today for a sonogram. She is concerned about an ectopic pregnancy. The sonographer said everything looks good but said it is much too early to see anything. He said I just need to have my HCG tested every few days. Today, at 4 weeks, my HCG was 270. They said that was normal. (It was 0 last Tuesday.) I am now so scared that this is an ectopic pregnancy. How can I tell the difference in a cramp and the pain from an ectopic pregnancy? By the way, I always feel weird twinges on the left side even during ovulation and menstruation. I have not had any dizziness or vaginal bleeding. Although, I did pass a tiny amount of brown tissue on Wed. and there was a little bit of pink on the toilet paper. (I did the same thing 2 months ago when I was not pregnant.) Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
