40+ weeks and countingFrom: Christy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 16 Dec 2000 12:50:31 -0600 (CST)
Is it possible to be pregnant for a year? Because that is how I'm feeling lately! I am having NO signs that this baby is ready to come out - short, painless BH contractions every once and awhile and that's it! My concern is how do I know my baby is ok in there?! I was charting my temps for several months before we got pregnant so I know EXACTLY when my due date should have been but I'm concerned because I've been told that after 40 weeks, the placenta is not providing as much nourishment to the baby as it was before - is this true?? I've also been having stabbing pains in my pubic bone area and I've never heard anyone mention that that could be signs of labor. Is that something I should be concerned about? I've had no "real contractions" nor have I had and back pain. I would have really liked to have had the baby come on its' own rather than being induced.... Ugh - I am just getting anxious and worried and stressed. If someone could please tell me if my baby is ok in there until the doctor tells me it's time to take her/him out, I would really appreciate the support. Thanks!
