medicationFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 14 Dec 2000 15:35:52 -0600 (CST)
I have just found out that I am expecting my second child, and I am only six weeks along. My question is concerning the medicine "ultram". Shortly after my 3year old was born I started to have alot of problems with pain and fatigue. I did have two bulging discs in my back; however, after that was taken care of I still had a lot of problems. To make a long story short after two years I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and have been taking Ultram for a year. It is the only medication that works for the pain. My OB says that it is safe to take in the begining, but I decided after speaking with my husband and the doctor who treats me for the condition to go off of it. Right now they are taking me off slowly, but I worry about the effects this medicine could have on the baby. I also was questioning the use of Tylenol 3, which is what they want to give me for pain as needed when I am off of the ultram. I do trust my doctors but a second opinion never hurts. Thank You! Amy B
