Strange dischargeFrom: worried (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 10 Dec 2000 22:29:58 -0600 (CST)
I am currently fifteen weeks pregnant and have been have a discharge similar to that of the loss of your mucous plug. It has the same texture and color. Sometimes there is blood mixed in with it. It has been happening since I was 6 weeks. I notice it is when I have cramps or have strained myself that day. I went to the Dr and had a pap smear and they did a culture. It came back clean with no problems or infection. Could it be an infection that they missed? I would imagine if it were I would have some symptoms with it. There are no other symptoms and the baby is fine. I also was put on antibiotics due to bronchitis. Wouldn't this have cured an infection? My worry is that it might be something that can hurt the baby or preterm labor. I starting dilating at 6 months with prior pregnancies. Could this be part of my plug so early? Sorry so long. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
