Just a few questions... Is MacroBid Capsules safe during pregnancy for a suspected bladder infection? --I was on vacation for 4 days and the last day I got up showered and within an hour had to go to the bathroom literally every 10 minutes and felt like I needed to go non stop but would only dribble...by the afternoon there was lower abdonimal pains and it hurt right before the last drop of pee came out...by 5:30pm there was slight blood at the end and when I wiped....called the doc and they made an appointment for me the next morning...I got to the airport and the blood had increased alot to 1/4 of what was coming out of me every 10 minutes when I went to the bathroom...I drank a glass of cranberry juice and got on the plane...In the air I felt tons better, no dizziness or real bad pains and when I used the toilet there was little to no blood....got off the plane 2 hours later and got home and the pain and blood were back and seemed lots worse...called the on call doc who said he would call in a prescription for Macrobid because it sounded like a bladder infection and there was no need to go to the ER....got the med and took one before going to bed within ten hours all of my symptons were gone and my doc said there was no need to come in to see him.... Should this have been handled differently? Are there risks to the baby from the Macrobid or from the infection? I have never had one before and I hope to never again....quite painful...Thanks Rachael P.S. Sorry so long.....
