Abdominal wall recovery status post C-SectionFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 5 Dec 2000 08:09:48 -0600 (CST)
Hi: Just wondered if there is anything I can do to help my abdominal muscles in recovery status-post C-section. I was quite involved in athletics prior to pregnancy and would like to ensure the most optimal recovery for my abdominal muscles. I have been told that I should except some underlying scarring that may inhibit a complete recovery as well as a "hanging flap" from just above the incision. I would like to know if this is true and what if anything can be done to ensure that I have a good recovery from both a physical and aesthetic stand-point. I am certainly elated to have a healthy happy baby but I know that I too must be healthy and happy with my healing and appearance to be a good mom. I was not prepared for this C-section at all and no one other than well meaning "advisors" who are either have not had a C-section or are not medically informed are filling me full of disturbing information. Thanks in advance.
