Cyndi I am sorry to hear that you have had two miscarriages. You do not actually need to have any evaluation at this time. Many times the doctor will do some tests after only two miscarriages but this is more to allay the patient's anxiety than out of any hope of actually finding a problem. And that's the good news. Having two miscarriages in a row does not mean that there is anything wrong. Most women who have had two miscarriages will go on to carry a normal pregnancy the third time. This is why the medical definition of Recurrent Pregnancy Loss is 3 losses in a row...because anything less than that is unlikely to be due to a medical problem. So it is normal for you to be concerned and normal to grieve the two pregnancies you have lost but you do not need to worry that you have a medical problem which is causing these miscarriages.

The most important thing your gynecologist can do for you at this time is sit down with you and explain this to you, reassure you, and do preconceptual counseling in anticipation of your next pregnancy.
