Hello, I just wanted to tell you Congradulation, when I heard my little boy's who is now 2 and this little boy's heartbeat I cryed. Yes, now days with Ultrasound equiptment they can measure the baby's heartrate and play it back to you as early as 6-7 weeks. Now, the dopplers that you see at a doctor's office, aren't that sensitive, but they can pick the baby's heartrate at 10-12 weeks. A heartrate of 180 this early is pregnancy, I would say is normal. As s/he gets older it will decrease. Now, you can go on worrying about s/he's nursery and so. Good luck to you
