Hello, I am not a doctor, but I don't understand why your doctor didn't do one right than. It could be nothing, but I can be something also. If I were you I would talk to my ob. It sounds like this is really worring you, and that in itself is not good for you or your baby. Now, with my first pregnancy, I had the same thing happen, but my baby was not formed at all. I was suppose to be 12 weeks, and I started to bleed and when doctor done pelvic exam he said he would only give me 6-8 weeks. There wasn't any possible way though. Well, he did a ultrasound the next day, and said I had what the called a blighted ovum. My baby never formed and all I had was a sac. I am not really trying to scare you. I just want to be honest. If I were you I would insist on a ultrasound. Now, the heartbeat can be heard at 11 weeks but It is not unusal for it not to be picked up until later. Hope this helps.
