Lack of a period

Hi there. I have been looking throught the archives and have learned a lot, but I have an expansion on some of what I have read.

I am almost 27 and around 50lbs overweight. I know this is probably a large part of my problem. I was on trilevelin and triphasil for years and had my period like clock work...on the same day each month and for only 4-6 days each time. I went off of the pill last January and had 2 regulat cycles. Then went 3 months wiothout a period. I had tests for thyroid problems that were negative and was not pregnant so my doctor put me on Provera. After taking it for 10 days...I barely had a LIGHT period, for 3 days. He gave me a refill to use if I went for more than 2 months again and told me that i was just not ovulating and that my weight could be a part of it.

Once again I went 2 1/2 months so I got the refill and took it for 10 more days. Again I have had about 3 very light days and that is it. Everyone (doctors and nurses as well as other women that have used provera) has told me that after going that long I would have a VERY heavy period and possible a long one. But that is far from the case. I'm just wondering why that is not happening and is it possible that there is something else going on? I started exercising more and that did not affect me this last time, although I know it can't hurt regardless ;). Just looking for some more input.

Thank you, CJ
