Thanks, Trina HI - Same thing just happened to me - and guess what? After being sure I had a blighted ovum and mourning the loss of the pregnancy for 6 days, I saw my baby and a beautiful beating heart at 6 weeks and 5 days. I had been in the previous week due to spotting, and the nurse practioner saw the fetus, but no heart beat. The following day, I had a level 2 u/s, and the technician saw nothing - not even a fetus. Every person I was dealing with was looking at me with sympathy. My Dr. wanted to wait another week since my HCG levels were appropriately high, and sure enough, our little one was there. I started to cry when I saw it, as I was 99.99999% sure nothing would be there! It was funny, because as I was sobbing, i could see my uterus contracting on the u/s. I hope (and pray) that you will have an equally wonderful experience. By the way, when the nurse practioner was measuring what she thought was a fetus, it was actually a fold in my uterus. The Dr. gave me a credit for that mistake! :)
