My baby was 7.4 lb at 34 weeks. I was terrified of a huge baby, too. Luckily my water broke at 37 weeks and I delivered an 8 lb 6.5 oz baby, but it was not easy. I had to have a Vacuum Extractor help after 3 hours of pushing and the baby not making it past a +1 station. My doctor told me that a baby above 10 lb is contraindicated for a vaginal delivery, but he wouldn't even check me to see if I was ripe for induction until after 38 weeks. Keep talking to your midwife and express your conerns EVERY time you see her. I had to have NSTs because my baby was estimated to be so large. Ask her about them, too.

Honestly, praying worked for me. I was so terrified of a big baby, I prayed every night for labor. I hope things work out for you. Please talk to your midwife again.
