I'm 8 weeks pregnant, and at my last apptointment I asked the midwife if the fetal heart moniters that are out on the market are safe to use (I was thinking they were doppler). She said that they're probably an amplifier of some sort and would therefore be harmless, however, one would have to be pretty far along before she would be able to hear the fetal heart beat. Does anyone know at what gestational week these moniters are able to detect the fetal heart beat?
