I have been trying to conceive for 10 mos. My dr. prescribed 50 mg of Clomid for past 2 cycles. I have not had any success those cycles, but did notice that my Clear Plan Ovulation Predictor Monitor showed peak on day 17 or 18, yet my period still came on day 29. This month she upped the dose to 100mg and recommended a fertiltiy specialist (I go in 2 weeks). My question has to do with something I read tonight in Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler. She said that Clomid actually sometimes shortens the second part of the cycle, thus not allowing an egg to implant. Is that what appears to have happened to me since I did get my period 11 days after ovulation? I need to start the Clomid tomorrow and am very confused about starting it, or waiting to see what the specialist says. What do you recommend? Thank you.
