Duodenal Atresia and Corrective Options

I am a 36 year old mother of one and am in my 22d week of pregnancy with twin boys. I had an amnio and several sonograms that revealed normal boys with no external or internal problems.

Today my sonogram revealed that one of the boys may have a condition known as "Duodenal Atresia". I know enough about the condition to know that it is considered a Down's marker, but the amnio has eliminated that as a problem. My worries are these:

1. How serious a condition is this? 2. Is surgery the only option or can this condition rectify itself prior to the birth? 3. If surgery, what is the success rate and what are the future implications for my son e.g. future GI problems, developmental or other health problems.

I'd appreciate any answers anyone can provide me with as well as places to search for additional information.

Many Thanks Ann
