21 weeks / Fetal Kicking causing severe Lower Right Abdomen Pain?

Hello!

I have been experiencing what I originally thought were round ligament pains about 3 weeks ago. I started waking up at night, when lying on my back, with a stretching/ripping pain in my lower abdomen, localised either to the left or right side. It has been getting worse and worse and I only have it on the right side now. I had noticed that baby always kicks on this side as well. The pain was intermittent.

Last night, I woke from sleep with very severe pains (even though I was sleeping in a fetal position on left side to alleviate the pains)! The pain caused me to have cold sweats and even cry out. Basically, I went to my GP this morning and he sent me to the hospital. I have no temperature to indicate an appendicitis, and appear to have no symptoms of a kidney/UTI infection. He gave me a scan and we saw the baby kicking and punching the exact spot where I am hurting (it is lying breach with feet on this area). It was funny to watch, but the pain is very severe. No fibroids, and no cysts (ruptured or otherwise) evident.

The baby has been kicking excessively (90% in this area) and the area is so sore that I'm beginning to wonder whether:

1. Is something wrong with my baby because it is moving SO MUCH?

2. Is prolonged severe pain (lasting perhaps 2 - 3 minutes constant) attributable to a baby kicking/stretching?

Sorry to be so long winded. I am excited the baby is moving so much, but the pain gives me cause for concern. No blood tests or urine samples were taken to check for kidney infections or UTI. What would your advice be?
