Pole seen on 1st u/s - 1 day later not visibleFrom: Alexis (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 10 Nov 2000 14:57:19 -0600 (CST)
According to my calculations, I am exactly 6 weeks from my LMP. I have been having brown and pinkish light spotting x 6 days. Dr. tested HCG and Progesterone levels on 11/6 and 11/8 - both are very, very high for my LMP. (OB thinks they might be too high?) 1st transvaginal Ultrasound was done by a Nurse Practioner at Drs. office on 11/8 - machine dated me at 6w 2d when I thought I was only 5w 4d. Fetus and sac were visible, with no detectable heart beat (might be a tad too early.) OB ordered a level 2 transvaginal Ultrasound at the hospital on 11/9. Technician could not see fetus at all, although the sac was clearly identifiable. This machine has higher resolution, and should have been able to locate the fetus. OB and I are sure I have not miscarried yet.Levels are still going up, and I have not passed any tissue. OB wants me to come back to his office next week so he can do another ultrasound himself. Has anyone ever had a similar experience? If a MD could respond that would be great! While I am realistic about the chances of this pregancy not being viable, I am hoping against hope! Also, could you comment on the accuracy of machine to machine? I am very scared!
