When to call my OB?

Started week 12 yesterday. Feeling better, but had some pretty good cramping last week, typical menstrual cramps, only lasted about an hour. Not returned since and not too concerned about it. What I'm concerned about is this spotting, well, I can't really liken to spotting, it's more just brownish/discolored discharge. Thin, stringy and the color of coffee with creamer in it. No odor, itch or anything like that. Once last week, and again last night.

My OB is very busy (I know you MDs here are too) as he mentors at a teaching hospital as well practicing OBGYN, and I don't want to bother him with trivial stuff, if indeed this is trivial. My next appt with him is 11/13. My sister (an MD) thinks I should call him right away but she has a tendency to overreact (most ER MDs do ::grin::).

Opinions? Thanks in advance.

PS--GOT MY FLU SHOT!!!!! =)
