Second ultrasound to see the faceFrom: Les (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Oct 2000 16:10:01 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I'm 20 wks and had my first ultrasound a week ago. Everything seemed fine, but they of course don't tell you much during it. Midwife called today and said 'they' are recommending a second ultrasound to get a better look at the face. She said not to worry, nothing wrong, blah, blah. Why is this so important? Furthermore, I saw her face during the ultrasound-the tech even pointed out the lenses in her eyes! Could the tech have just neglectd to take a picture at that point(you know how they 'snap' the picture and take all the measurements) so the doctor who reviewed the pictures didn't have a record of her face? I suppose I'm most worried about all this because my husband has a cleft lip and I've heard this is hereditary. Anyone been in this situation before, or able to shed some light?
