I really don't know enough about the sport to give you an informed opinion. In general, we are seeking to avoid blount force trauma, bouncing, joint stress, exertion against a closed throat (i.e, grunting), heart rates in exess of 140 and overheating. I suspect that tae kwon do has generous helpings of all of these things to be avoided, but I really don't know.
