Flu vaccine questions for doctors

I am currently 37 weeks pregnant. I have always received a flu vaccine prior to becoming pregnant and have asked my MD about getting one this year while this close to being due. At first he said that he felt like since the CDC encourages the supply of this vaccine on people who are considered higher risk (ie elderly, pregnant women, immunio-supressed etc) he then hesitated saying he completely recommended it for women as far along as me due to the fact that it is a live virus. The bottom line is that he wouldn't make a decision for me and I now cannot seem to make one for myself regarding this vaccine which I have taken annually for many years without any hesistancy or difficulty. Of course I do not want to put my baby at risk.

I respect all the medical personnel on this forum and am anxious to hear thoughts on this matter.
