Yes, we do cringe. The surgeries are tough, the complication rate ascends steadily with each C/S, and a previous dihiscence scares the boo-hooies out of me. There is no fixed maximum number of C/S, but there are considerable risks involved in such circumstances. I can't really think of any long term consequences beyond the sequelae of the surgical complications, such as Hepatitis C from a blood transfusion, or permanent bladder damage from an intraoperative injury as so on.
