I went inot the ER yesturday due to having trouble breathing and my asthma inhaler was not working all night long, well i got there and they said i had an upper respitory infection, and gave me a breathing treatment which helped alot, then they continued with giving me a steroid shot called "decadron" something about the infammed lungs and it would help. Well it was only 1 small does and they said it was a category c drug for pregnancy, but they had to outweigh risks because i was so bad off ir eally needed it, well im 33 weeks, what exactly could decadron do at this stage if anything, i mean it was like 6 something in the shot 6 cc or soemthing i cant remember but it was a 6. she said a small dose. They would have had to call my ob and get permission forst right? i wsnt thinking cleary and didnt ask if they called my ob or not. I trust him totally if he said it ws ok, they would have had to call him prior to giving me anything because of the baby right? thanks. michelle
