cervical lengthFrom: ana (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 5 Oct 2000 12:08:56 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I recently had my second trimester ultrasound at 20 weeks and everything was normal except that my ob seemed a little concerned about the fact that my cervical length was reported as 2.7. She said she likes to see atleast a 3.3cms. She said i may be at risk for preterm labor. I am little concerned since then. How serious is this. How real or significant is the risk. I am doing my residency in internal medicine I have to be on my feet for several hours at a time. Has my lifestyle got anything to do with it. Do you think I ought to rest for longer periods. Please advice. very worried. This is my first baby. Should the test be repeated. This was a transabdominal study, would a transvaginal study be more accurate? Ana
