Well, it is up to you - i used a cream on my belly with my first and got marks anyway - but it doest hurt....as for your nipples - well i have not heard that in fact i was told that it is better not to even wash them directly with soap as it can make them more sensitive....I didnt use anything with my son and didnt have any real nipple probs (well, one blister at the hosp - but that was all) i do recommend lansinoh for your nipples after you begin nursing - it is totally natural (all my friends loved it) and the baby can ingest it (therefore you can put in on anytime)

but i think it is a judgement call really, as i said cream didnt help me with my first - but the preg i have strecthed more and am not gettingany realy visible marks (with my first i red bright red lines EVERYWHERE)...the cream cant hurt - but in my prenatal class i was told NOTHING will totally prevent them
