16 wks, small intermittant pains above pubic bone, etc.

I'm in my 16th week and have had a normal pregnancy so far. Yesterday, I noticed that off and on every few minutes all day, I was getting a small twinge of pain in the center of my very low abdomen, around the pubic bone area (but deep inside somewhere). The pains would kinda just shoot up for a second and then go away. They subsided after I drank a bunch of water and lay down. Today, I have not really noticed them too much, just very occasionally. Sometimes they are more to the right or left, but sometimes in the center.

I have a regular OB appt on Oct 9, so I'm trying to wait until then to get checked out. Am I being foolish? These pains aren't severe, just enough to make me notice. Sometimes they are off to the sides, but the ones that occur closer to the center pubic area are the ones that makes me worry.

thanks, ashley
