Re: Possible to bleed but NOT have a miscarriage?From: ABD (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 1 Oct 2000 19:35:35 -0500 (CDT)
I also started bleeding at 12 weeks. After a very heavy bleeding episode at 12 weeks I was diagnosed with a subchorionic hemmorage (because of a small separation of the placenta). There was a bloodclot present on the ultrasound. I bled through the 17th week (I am now 21 weeks) and was also on modified bedrest until the bleeding stopped. Now that the bleeding has stopped, I have resumed a semi-normal routine - but still no exercise or lifting. I never had any cramping. The blood was bright red when it started but gradually became browner. I am finally starting to feel like everything will turn out well - my OB says that they see this every now and then and that most patients do well. I do have to say that this has been such a scary experience. Best of luck to you, please let me know if you have any questions.
