Re: Pregnancy after depo-proveraFrom: Wes (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 1 Oct 2000 12:55:03 -0400
Valerie, Speaking from personal experience, when I had my daughter who is 5 now, I went on depo shots for a total of 9 months. After that it took me personally 2 1/2 years to conceive. I now have a son who is 16 months and am pregnant again. After I had my son, I did not use any birth control and left whether or not I would get pregnant in God's hands. Of course, I did nurse him for 9 months, and my husband "pulled out" until I quit nursing, but then afer that it still took me 6 months to conceive. I know I have given you a lot of useless information, but my point is that you never know how long it will take to conceive, and that the depo shot seemed to keep me from conceiving for 2 + years, so I wouldn't worry at this point. However, I am not a doctor, so I am sure that these doctors can give you the benefits of their experiences as well. Katie
