If the baby has jaundice, the percent of FREE bilirubin, will be higher. THis is because the sulfa combines with the same binding site on albumin that bilirubin does. So if the sulfa is there, then the bilirubin can't and remains free and unbound in the serum. Unless labor is going to start in a few hours any way, castor oil, fleets, etc. should not do anything at all except cause diarrhea and cramps of the colon. RDB
