Just putting my two pennies worth in as well. I had all the horrible back aches to start with and then lost the yucky mucus plug clear/opaque slim (like some people get with ovulation - but lots of it) and within hours I was having the "show" which as much as it's supposed to be bloody mine was more brown than red and within 37 hours baby was born. If you're not really sure what's going on consider going to the hospital anyway - they can only send you home again. Not wishing to frighten you, but I went to the hospital as soon as the plug and show came and they kept me in because my blood pressure was up - as I said they can only send you home again but at least you will feel happy that someone has examined you.
