ITP and pregnancy

I just had an ultrasound. I am 29 weeks, the baby's brain shows some swelling and the doctor is concerned about ITP. What are the risks of ITP to my unborn child? How can this be reversed or treated to minimize brain damage? What is the risk of brain damage? Does this mean I have ITP? I go for blood tests on Monday to start diagnosis of the problem but I am anxiously researching to educate myself. Please help if you can. I am quite concerned about the well being of my child.
