I am very conderned regarding the west nile virus. It was found yesterday in two dead crows less than one mile from our home. I kow our community is considering spraying the area by air as well. This makes me just as nervous as the virus itsself. I do not spray my home as I usually do and do not use any chemicals(ie, nail polish remover, furn. polish, bleach, etc) anything that I might inhale or absorb transdermally while I am pregnant. Now they are going to expose me to this pesticide unwillinglly. Can you tell me if contracted, does the virus cross the placenta, If so is it harmful to my baby, is my immune system weakened during preg as to put me at high risk for the complication of menigitis from the virus , and am I being overlly concerned regarding the spraying of my area. I can always go out of town for a few days while spraying, but them does not it get into the water sply and jepordize health again in this mannar? Please give me any and all info you can on this matter. Thanks, BJ
