C-Section....2 questions/concernsFrom: Angela-33 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 25 Sep 2000 10:20:17 -0500 (CDT)
Hi - I wrote once before saying that at 31 wks my obgyn said i would just have to be scheduled for a section - and that she wasn't even going to try to let me go for labour etc..... my question is this: What are the common reason why a doc would say/want to do this? as a recap - with my first child (my wonderful little boy) i got a tear and had a leak at right around 40 wks....i went to the hospital but had to be induced as labour didnt start - and after 14.5 hrs i was only 1-2 dialated so the doc said it would be a c...she had warned me beforehand that it would most likely be one - as she said the baby hadnt dropped at all and seemed rather big (he was 8 10)...she did say that i measured 40 wks at 31 ( i had only gained 26 lbs which i know isnt great but considering i gained 60 with my first - i think it is terrific...lol) just curious - and as the date nears - getting more so my other question is - will i be able to opt for an epidural so i can be awake even if it is a scheduled surgery??? thank you
