Approaching Labor QuestionsFrom: anita (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 23 Sep 2000 01:40:52 -0500 (CDT)
I posted a few day ago, but I think it got lost!! If anyone remebers, I posted late August with cramping, contractions and mucus loss. Now at 34 weeks I still have the contractions and cramping and lose a LARGE amount of mucus every other day or so. The doctor has checked my cervix at the last two visits and the first time (31weeks) it was tightly closed and was quite tender for a few days after that internal. The next time he said it was a lot softer and the baby was at -3 (what does this mean???) I hardly had any pain in my cervix after this internaly - is that because it is much softer? He also did an in depth ultra sound of the baby to check it's heart and lungs and weight and kept reassuring me if I went into pre term labor, this baby was really healthy and would almost certainly be fine. Every day I wake up with my baby still in my tummy is a good one - although most nights, I am amazed that I haven't given birth!! I am just wondering about some feedback from other OB's or nurses who may have treated cases like this and mums who may have been through this. Thanks!
