I support you in how it sounds like you want to handle your pregnancy and birth. My philosophy is that women should handle pregnancy and birth in whatever way works for them, but that they should make informed decisions, knowing what the risks/benefits/alternatives are of each choice they make.

I hope you like to read, because I've got some great book recommendations for you! The first is called "The Natural Pregnancy Book" by Aviva Jill Romm. Another is "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth" by Henci Goer. And a great all-around pregnancy book is "The Pregnancy Book" by William Sears, MD (and also "The Birth Book" by him). After those three you may want to check out "A Good Birth, A Safe Birth" by Roberta Scaer and Diana Korte, and "Immaculate Deception II" by Suzanne Arms.
