Angela, As far as having a section goes and nursing, the section shouldn't cause problems there. I had a section on Aug 4 and had no problems with milk coming in. It does take a few days to happen. Until then you will be producing colostrum, which is all your baby will need until your milk is in. I read somewhere (maybe in Nursing Mother's Companion) that the removal of the placenta is what triggers milk production, whether it is delivered vaginally or via section. Many hospitals have lactation consultants on staff...take advantage of their services while you're still there. You may have a problem with soreness from the incision, but you can nurse in the football hold or lying down positions to keep from putting weight on your tummy. The My Brest Friend pillow is also excellent in supporting a baby while nursing. HTH! Amanda
